Posers, wannabes, the ones who think they know it all.
All mere losers who attempt to be knowledgeable and cool, but instead turn out to be pompous asses.
Caught a whiff of a conversation touching on the upcoming MTV World Stage & Incubus concert in Malaysia.
“Hey dude, do you want tickets to the World Stage concert?”
“Why?”
“I’m selling off my tickets. Don’t really feel like going.”
“Oh, why not? It’s good!”
“Nah. How about that Incubus concert, heh?”
“The Incubus concert is going to be great. It’s awesome!”
“I don’t really know much about Incubus though. I know only one of their songs. What’s it called again? Drive?”
“Err,” *vacuum noise*
“Anyways, you don’t want the World Stage tickets, right? OK”
I can’t help feeling outraged and at the same time, amused by the poor fella’s attempt at acknowledging Incubus to be awesome even when he doesn’t know the band at all. His attempt to be the bigger one in the conversation fell through.
(Awesome? Yeah. What’s the song called again? Drive? Err.)
I’m so outraged by this that I suddenly began to feel a bit blue because I won’t be attending the concert.
It’s a slew of mixed emotions this week. Rage was particularly evident.
Sometimes, I just want to squash a banana or a ripe tomato (or two!) and pretend it’s a collection of idiots in the world.
